This is Bradley Nowell. Most people may not know exactly who he is, but you’ve heard his music somewhere before. He was the frontman of a ska/punk band called Sublime (now currently touring with Rome). They made three albums in the 1990s’ and are considered a one-hit wonder because a song called “What I Got” hitting the top 10 in the mainstream chart from their third self-titled album. Songs that didn’t chart like “Santeria”, “Wrong Way”, “Badfish”, or “Date Rape” are also very popular today, regardless of not charting. They have had a huge following and a huge influence among many bands since Nowell’s death of a heroin overdose 16 years ago at the age of 28. Today is his birthday and he would be 44. I’d like to give my thoughts to his family and his friends, along with the remaining members of the band. Happy Birthday Brad. You and Lou Dog are together in Heaven forever.
